Legacy Pediatrics is proud to partner with three Psychologists, Drs. David Driscoll, Elizabeth Meeker, and Aubree Guiffre, to provide diagnostic assessment and treatment/therapy to children, teenagers, and families of the practice. W. David Driscoll, Psy.D.
Dr. Driscoll received a Liberal Arts A.A. degree from Cayuga County Community College, a B.S. degree in Psychology from St. Lawrence University, an M.S. degree in Counseling and School Psychology from SUNY Oswego, a Psy.D. from Rutgers University, and Post-Doctoral training in Family Systems at URMC. He was a clinical faculty member at URMC for many years before retiring as Associate Professor.
Dr. Driscoll is a licensed psychologist who collaborated with the Legacy team for many years before moving his practice into the Legacy office. He specializes in working with boys and young men from pre-school through college and adulthood. Collaboration with patients’ families, healthcare teams, and schools typically accompanies his individual diagnostic and therapeutic work. Dr. Driscoll’s professional work encompasses developmental, clinical, and contextual perspectives within a larger biopsychosocial model. His strength-based approach identifies positive pathways to help patients and their families achieve their goals. He refers to community providers for specialized care as needed.
Dr. Driscoll has numerous publications in his field and was awarded a Presidential Citation for Innovative Practice by the American Psychological Association.
Dave is married with two adult daughters, two grandchildren, and dogs and cats included in his family.
Aubree M. Guiffre, PhD
Dr. Aubree Guiffre’s professional training includes studies in Marriage and Family Therapy (Master of Science degree - The University of Rochester Medical School) and Counseling Psychology (PhD - West Virginia University, Primary Care/Family/Pediatric Psychology Postdoctoral Fellowship - The University of Rochester Medical Center). She is a licensed Counseling Psychologist in NYS.
Dr. Guiffre has extensive training in mindfulness practices and teaching (Certified by Mindful Schools Teacher and the International Mindfulness Teacher Association) and is a Yoga Teacher (RYT 200 Yoga Works and RCYT 200 YogaEd). Collaboration with medical and school teams has been a central feature of the therapy and care Dr. Guiffre provides to her patients. She has been an invited speaker by medical professionals, school teams, and parent groups to discuss topics related to mental health, behavioral interventions, and collaboration.
Dr. Guiffre has a specialty in bringing mindfulness practices into therapy. She has training in Mindful Sports Performance Enhancement (MSPE) and Supporting Parents for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE) and is a certified teacher in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction-Teens (MBST-T). Dr. Guiffre is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Rochester Medical Center and teaches classes on family therapy theory and collaboration models. She has provided clinical supervision for MFT students, Psychology Interns, and Psychology Postdoctoral Fellows at URMC and RIT.
Dr. Guiffre is a presenter with Effective School Solutions to support school personnel and parents in building knowledge and skills to support students. She is also a mindfulness teacher with Matthew’s Mindful Moments. Examples of presentations and workshops she’s offered include Mindful Parenting, Mindfulness practices, and helping parents understand ADHD.
