Meet Our Providers

Janet R. Casey, M.D.

Dr. Casey is the owner of Legacy Pediatrics where she practices primary care and as a sub specialist consultant. She has published numerous articles and chapters on ambulatory pediatric infectious disease topics.

Fun Fact

Despite her diminutive size, Dr. C is a tri-athlete. A former gymnast, she is an avid runner, cyclist and swimmer. She trains and competes on a regular basis, enjoying some aspects of her new empty-nester lifestyle, especially the clean house and the lower food bills.

Dominique J. Bandari, M.D.

Dr. Bandari has experience as a Primary Care Pediatrician and Nursery Hospitalist. She also holds a Masters in Health Sciences, and is dedicated to all aspects of her patients’ care.

Fun Fact

Dr. Bandari loves to travel and visit new places. She is very passionate about the pre-trip planning process, making sure no highlight is missed! She has been lucky enough to visit over 35 countries, and couldn’t be happier to call Rochester her home.

Kate D. Shand, PA-C, IBCLC

Kate is a Clinical Instructor for the PA Program at RIT. During her training, she completed multiple rotations including orthopedics, surgery, OB/GYN, neonatal ICU training, pediatrics, internal medicine, geriatrics, emergency medicine, psychiatry, and inpatient medicine.

Fun Fact

Kate is a cool calm confident part of the Legacy Pediatrics team but that all goes out the window when she roots for the Buffalo Bills. She can be found on Sundays yelling at her TV in an uncool, uncalm, & unconfident manner, scaring her husband and 2 young sons while doing so.

Dr. Jennifer Silverstein

Dr. Silverstein grew up in Rochester, NY, and is excited to be joining the amazing team at Legacy Pediatrics. She completed her undergraduate degree at Cornell University and earned a Bachelor of Science in human biology health and society with a minor in global health. She attended New York College of Osteopathic Medicine for medical school. She returned to Rochester to complete her pediatric residency and chief year at the University of Rochester – Golisano Children’s Hospital. Prior to starting at Legacy, she completed additional training in pediatric nephrology at the University of Rochester. She is board certified in Pediatrics.
